KLS Returns
Kimora Lee Simmons is back with her line KLS, but with a much higher price point. The former model started an urban womenswear line, Baby Phat. Not to mention she has produced and starred in quite a few reality shows. She is know for being a fashion mogul and her personal brand, selling clothes, shoes, fragrances, books and more. She was named creative director and president of JustFab.com. Now she’s back, and from the looks of it, with a vengeance.
Kimora’s inspiration for the line came from not having versatile pieces in her own closet. Easy pieces to transition from day to night, so she decided to design the clothes herself. With a price range of $600-$3500, this collection is for the big spenders. With very classic pieces and sexy silhouettes, the designs from this collection can take you from a business meeting to a cocktail party in a flash. It’s a very minimal collection with luxurious fabrics— cashmere, leather, double layered silks, mixed with mesh, ponte, and jaquards. Very posh fabrics.
She is now pregnant with her fourth baby and recently married to Tim Leissner, investment banker. Hm, I wonder how old Ming Lee and Aioki are now?
I really do love this collection, very chic, classic, yet sexy and tailored. It’s very DVF meets Alexander Wang. Maybe I can get an inside look during NYFW… Hmm :).
